Freemasons Victoria - Starting the Conversation - Men's Health Week Launch

posted Jun 13, 2017, 1:35 AM by Damien Bookings   [ updated Jun 13, 2017, 1:37 AM ]

This month, Victorian Freemasons embrace Men’s Health Week 12-18 June. Leading up to the week, there has been a focus on prostate cancer screening and especially mental health.

On 7 June, in conjunction with Mirvac, Freemasons Victoria launched “Starting the Conversation” at Victoria’s Parliament House; the conversation about suicide prevention. The launch featured John Patterson, a farmer and Freemason from the Mingay district near
Lismore in western Victoria. Bro John lost his brother Charles, a sheep farmer, to suicide 23 years ago and has spent the last two years travelling and speaking to Lodges and community groups about suicide prevention. Two years ago just before facing an audience, John decided to ditch a written speech on suicide prevention in favour of reciting a moving poem titled Rain from Nowhere. I’ve placed a link following to John’s recital on youtube below    .

Ringwood Venue Hire

With our Centre only a short walk from Ringwood Train Station, rail is a great way to get to us but track and crossing upgrades will see buses replacing all train services between Ringwood and Box Hill Station until 27 Jan 2017. From that date, it is expected buses will replace trains after 8:45pm each night until Sunday 5th February 2017.

With bookings getting back into the normal swing next week, please take note of the above.

Updates and the above information with more detail including timetables, can be accessed by clicking here.

New Wheels on Chair Trolley

posted Nov 1, 2016, 4:29 PM by Damien Bookings

We recently discovered a broken wheel on the chair trolley used in the supper room.

Many thanks to WBro Bruce J who has repaired the above. Bruce advises that the wheels are rated at 30Kg, and with the trolley weighing 12Kgs, would limit the loading to approx 4 Chairs.

Please make sure you report any damage to me on discovery, as frequent visitors, we rely on lodges and regular users for feedback. Based on that feedback we’ve asked our cleaner to give some extra attention to cleaning the lodge room.

June 2016 - dates still clear

posted May 18, 2016, 10:15 PM by Damien Bookings

Greetings !

Just looking at the diary and although we have some sort of activity in every weekend in June, it is still a very lightly booked month. I came on the site to tell the world about this, to find I already have !

Saturday 4 June, Saturday 11 June and Saturday 18 June still do not have functions booked on those Saturdays!  Strange ! In December 2016 - almost every Saturday before Christmas is already booked 24 December is not though, but I've not decided if we will hire the hall that night...

We're offering a discounted hire rate for the above Saturdays in June 2016 to give people a chance to try our fantastic community hall. Recently we had a user in for their fifth hire since I took over the bookings - they keep coming back year after year because they know how good our hall is and how easy we are to deal with.

For your function hire in Ringwood, especially in June 2016, contact us !

Ringwood Hall Hire - June 2016

posted Apr 4, 2016, 11:06 PM by Damien Bookings

There are not many dates in April into mid May 2016 left to hire the hall on a Saturday, but Saturday 21 May is still available. That said, so far we still have three Saturdays in June when the hall is not booked.

I just got another wonderful testimonial from a happy customer who has hired the hall many times, last weekend the family in question had a 50th. Please do consider hiring the Ringwood Masonic Centre - we've got several families who found us on the web and just keep coming back because they know how great our venue is.

Why don't you give us a try ?

Check out our testimonial page here.

Please note that this may increase your journey by up to 45 minutes
